Living Well

DSC01574When our children are little, they readily absorb tons from us. What we teach, what they hear and see. Living together speeds their learning process as they watch. listen. apply. learn over and over again.

They abide. Dwelling with us, they learn our ways. They’re learning to live the way we live.

As they get older, sometimes they question or challenge our way. They experiment with other ways. To them, their way makes sense. And as far as they know (key word know), their way is better.

We want them to live the way that we know is best for them.

Hmmm, sounds like what God wants for us. To abide, to be present to Him and learn how to live each day His way.
We walk a path parallel to our child’s.

In the grocery store, at our child’s school, at work, cooking, driving, exercising or at dinner… practice, “Lord, help me be present to You.”

Abide. Practice dwelling in God’s presence, learning to live in moments – and in relationships – His way.

“Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.” (John 15.5b)
