Recently, I had shoulder surgery. That was the easy part. Surviving the first week of physical therapy “home-work” almost did me in. To distract myself from the pain, I listened to lively worship music.
One morning was especially tough. I was tired, hurting, impatient to be well, and struggling to see the light at the end of this tunnel. Tears rolled down my face as I struggled to make each moment. Then this song came on: All My Fountains by Chris Tomlin and the Passion Band.
Words of the chorus resounded to my soul. “All my fountains are in You.” Repeating in a way that my heart needed, the message sank in to my heart. . .
Not self determination. Not a positive attitude. Not a good night’s sleep.
All I need is in Jesus.
Jesus will carry, refresh, and restore us in the midst of our tears.
This is triumph.
God sees our tears. He knows the cause of each one. “You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle. You have recorded each one in your book.” (Psalm 56.8, NLT)
Heartbroken? Discouraged? In pain?
Exhausted? Feeling empty, like you have nothing left to give?
Jesus said, “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him.” (John 7.37-38)

How beautiful! A confident reminder that Jesus is always with us; He will provide our every need if we just turn to Him to obtain our solace, relief from continued pain, physical or mental. Anxiety over the future certainly does not add to the joy of any day or night, yet there it is, snuggled tightly into a spot that it won’t give up. How blessed we are! Jesus awaits us with open arms to comfort our anxieties; provide the love and support so vital to moving forward in HIS care.
Thank you, Teresa. Your writings are balm to our soul. My best wishes for your recovery.

Bless you Teresa for sharing with love and joy. Then those who sing as well as those who play the flutes shall say, “All my springs of joy are in you.”
