I hear this a lot. I think it, too.
It’s as though we relegate it to our “Need To Do” list along with:
..exercise more
..eat less chocolate
..declutter the closets
..finish that book.
“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” (1 Thessalonians 5.16-18)
“Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving.” (Colossians 4.2)
Sounds like praying to God is supposed to be like breathing.
Sounds like praying is supposed to be as easy as breathing.
Throughout the day. All day. Driving, taking a shower, sitting in carpool line, folding laundry, emptying the dishwasher, waiting in line.
We tend to talk to God about the big stuff. Big pain, big fear, big decisions, big celebrations. God wants us to talk to Him about the littlest things, too.
…a child’s day, what to have for supper, what to wear, which plans to commit to…
This is what we do with the person we trust, love and enjoy the most.
God wants this place in our heart, in our daily life.
Our prayer life bears testimony to the intimacy of our relationship with Christ.

Dear Teresa,
Once again you have chosen a selection of beautiful flowers to remind us of God’s gracious gifts of Autumn and the onset of a new season. So it is with His children. We all need a “new season” of relationship with Him and our blessed Jesus Christ.
