Some days are just really hard—For us or for someone we care about.
Then, if you string a few such days together, the ground can begin to feel like quicksand.
. . . until we remember Who holds the ground – and us.
“And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock. And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell, and great was the fall of it. And when Jesus finished these sayings, the crowds were astonished at his teaching…” (Matthew 7.25-27)
We need security. Real security.
Our sense of security is as strong as our faith.
“And the Lord said, “If you had faith like a grain of mustard seed, you could say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted and planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you.” (Luke 17.6)
Faith. Believing Jesus. Believing the Word of God.
“So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.” (Romans 10.17)
We need to know…. for our own soul.
We need to know… so we can tell others.
About God’s love for them… His faithfulness… mercy… nearness… strength…power…
God, You know how much, or how little, I know You. I want to know You more. To look for You throughout the day. To share what I see and learn with others. Thank you. Amen.
